From a very young age I was always amazed by the science of the human body and how it worked. This generated my love for anything science. From middle school I knew I wanted to go to medical school and become a doctor, specifically a surgeon. My journey began shadowing doctors and practitioners in the field of health. This is when I had my first aha moment.

I was exposed to so many people that were dealing with health challenges and were lost. Lost as in they did not know what to do to better their health. They were given medications to manage their challenges and told to lose weight, but not given the resources or guidance to do so. I was amazed at how behaviors such as what you eat and how much you move each day can determine how meaningful of a life you’re able to live.

I remember working an internship at the front desk and one woman came to pay her copay crying. She was frustrated and said that she’s tried everything to try and lose weight, as the doctor said that the weight loss will decrease her cholesterol and blood pressure. She mentioned she’s continuously been unsuccessful and all he did was continue to tell her to eat healthy and exercise.. sound familiar? All she wanted was to live a meaningful and healthy life and not have to worry about these challenges.

I was a life-long athlete and as I saw how health and wellness not only affected my health but my performance both during and outside of athletics, affected my mindset, affected the way I was able to live my life, affected how I can avoid my risk factors (being African American, a woman, and having a family history of various conditions and diseases) and live low risk of disease.

From then on my passion to help others evolved. I decided I didn’t just want to diagnose, treat, and prescribe. I wanted to prevent. I wanted to educate, encourage, and motivate women to live their healthiest and best lives. I wanted to show them that there IS a way even after they feel as though they’ve tried it all. I wanted to let them know that as a woman I know what they’ve been through and how they’ve felt. I wanted to tell them that I have been there and been through my own wellness journey, transforming my body from the inside out and transforming my mind. I wanted to tell them that they only get one body and they are worth it to invest in themselves, in their best selves so what better time than NOW

I’ve worked both behind the scenes and on the front scenes helping tens of women change their health and change their life. For over a decade I’ve worked in the field of health and wellness as a personal trainer, group fitness trainer, chiropractic assistant, clinical trial nutrition researcher, clinical health coach, corporate health coach, weight loss consultant, diabetes educator, medical scribe, and more. My mission is to go from helping tens of women to tens of thousands of women change their health and change their lives and am not stopping until I do. Are you ready for that to be you?
